If my listing is sold out it means I am filled up with all the slots I can take at the moment. I can refer you to another artist to root your hair or you may choose to look for a rooter on your own. A Little About My Custom Process & Client Communication ❤️
I want to take a moment to explain how I approach custom orders at Pink Bows Tiny Toes, so that everyone understands my process and what to expect before moving forward. ❤️
When you order a loose custom, you are able to choose from the options I offer, such as eye color, hair color, and available add-ons. Skin tones can also be discussed when they are within a range I have previously created and feel confident working with. I am always happy to show examples of previous work so you can have a realistic idea of what I am able to achieve.
My painting process is very much an artistic process. I work in layers and make decisions as I go based on what I am seeing on the actual silicone in front of me. I cannot always know exactly what the finished baby will look like while I am in the middle of painting.
Silicone is extremely shiny during the painting process, and the final appearance really comes together during the finishing and matting stages. Because of this, I do not provide constant progress photos or ask clients to make decisions based on what the baby looks like halfway through the process.
Photos can also be deceiving. Lighting, cameras, phones, computer screens, and even different settings can dramatically change how colors and details appear. Once paint has been applied to silicone, it is permanent. I can continue building and adjusting layers, but I cannot simply remove everything and start over if someone decides they would prefer a different direction midway through.
The skin tones I offer are colors and mixes that I have personally worked with repeatedly and have learned how they behave on silicone. Even with experience, every silicone baby is unique, and there will always be an artistic element to the final result.
Trusting My Artistic Process 🎨
When you choose me to create your baby, I need you to be comfortable giving me the artistic freedom to do what I know how to do.
Reference photos can be helpful for understanding general preferences, but I cannot be guided throughout the painting process by multiple photos, constant requests, or instructions about how each stage should look. A photograph and an actual silicone baby can look very different in person.
My goal is always for you to absolutely love your baby. ❤️ But the best work happens when I am trusted to use my experience, techniques, and artistic judgment to create the finished piece.
Every artist has a different style, technique, and process. If you are looking for an experience where you can direct every stage of the painting or approve changes throughout the process, my custom process may simply not be the best fit—and that is completely okay. I would much rather everyone feel comfortable with their artist and their process before an order is placed.
Communication During Your Custom 💕
I also want to set some expectations regarding communication.
I work completely alone, and my time is very limited. I am not a very chatty person, and when I am working, I need to stay focused on my current projects and clients. In addition to painting, I also sew and work on many other aspects of my business.
Because of this, I generally answer quick questions or things that genuinely need my attention. I am not able to provide daily updates or carry on ongoing conversations throughout the day about a custom order.
Please try to keep your questions together in one message whenever possible, rather than sending multiple messages throughout the day. This allows me to answer everything at once when I have a moment instead of repeatedly stopping what I am doing to respond.
I completely understand being excited about your baby and wanting to know how things are coming along. ❤️ I would be excited too! However, during certain stages of the process, there may not be anything meaningful I can tell you because the finished appearance is still developing.
When your baby is finished and I have something meaningful to show you, I will reach out. ❤️
Please understand that limited communication does not mean I am uninterested, ignoring you, or unwilling to help. It simply means that I have to protect my work time and structure my business in a way that allows me to actually complete the orders I have committed to.
My priority has to be creating your baby—not constantly messaging about creating your baby. 🎨❤️

Understanding Silicone & Natural Imperfections 🤍
I also want to take a moment to talk about something very important when creating a silicone art doll: silicone is not a perfect medium.
Each silicone baby is created through a process involving many different stages, and ultimately, it is a piece of art made by human hands. Because of that, small variations, tiny imperfections, subtle differences in texture, paint, coloring, or finish can occur. These things are a normal part of creating a handmade silicone art doll and should not automatically be considered flaws or defects.
Human hands are not perfect—and your art doll doesn’t need to be perfect either. ❤️
In fact, those little variations are part of what makes each baby unique. No two babies will ever be exactly alike, just as no two real babies are exactly alike.
When you have a real baby, you don’t get to choose every tiny detail. You don’t know exactly what their hair will look like, what little marks they may have, how their skin will vary, or what unique features they will be born with. You simply get to meet the little person you created and love all of the things that make them them. 🥰
Creating an art doll is similar in that way. While you can choose certain features and preferences during a custom, there will always be an element of artistic interpretation and natural variation.
Please understand that these little imperfections and variations are part of the handmade process. They are not necessarily mistakes—they are part of the art.
